Otherwise, you will not be eligible to interview, and your name will be deactivated from the list.</li></ul><p> </p><ul><li>If appointed, within 1 year of appointment you must obtain your International Code Council Certification as a Commercial Plumbing Plans Examiner, as required under the provisions of the Pennsylvania Construction Code Act (Act 45 of 1999) and within 1 year be certified as a Sewage Enforcement Officer (SEO). All certifications must be maintained and remain current during employment.</li></ul><p> </p><ul><li>“In accordance with Allegheny County Health Department Rules and Regulations, Article XV, Plumbing and Building Drainage, Chapter 1, Paragraph 103.5 states “No person appointed Chief Plumbing Inspector, Assistant Chief Plumbing Inspector, Supervisor or Inspector shall directly be engaged in business or work regulated by the Article during their employment with the Department”.</li></ul><p> </p><ul><li>Possession of a valid automobile operator’s license and the use of an automobile during working hours. You must be able to provide your own transportation to and from the various worksites throughout Allegheny County. The list will be in effect for one (1) year unless previously exhausted or superseded.</p><p>In the ranking, open competitive applicants qualifying for Veteran’s Preference receive an additional ten points on the final earned rating. Form DD-214 must be attached to the application form for consideration for Veteran’s Preference. Determination of Veteran’s Preference is made in accordance with State Civil Service Policy.</p><p>If you are claiming veteran's preference, then proof of eligibility; DD-214 Form or other comparable military document must be submitted for initial claim. The important aspects of the work are reviewing proposed plumbing and building drainage installation plans for compliance with codes and regulations for the protection of the public against the hazards of unsanitary conditions in plumbing systems.
