A resume may not be substituted for an application. <div id="box" style="border: solid; padding: 15px; border-color: gold; background-color: lightgray;"> Minimum Requirements: <ul><li>Must be or had permanent status as Allegheny County Health Department Plumbing Inspector for one (1) year and have been a licensed master plumber or journeyman.</li></ul> OR <ul><li>Must have six (6) years of experience as a professional plumber with three (3) years of experience as a master plumber and currently be a licensed master plumber.</li></ul> NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: <ul><li>If you establish eligibility on the Plumbing Inspector Supervisor Open Competitive list, and your name is certified for interview, you must bring to the interview a copy of your International Code Council Certification as a Commercial Plumbing Inspector, as required under the provisions of the Pennsylvania Construction Code Act (Act 45 of 1999). Otherwise, you will not be eligible to interview, and your name will be deactivated from the list.</li></ul> <ul><li>If appointed, within 1 year of appointment you must obtain your International Code Council Certification as a Commercial Plumbing Plans Examiner, as required under the provisions of the Pennsylvania Construction Code Act (Act 45 of 1999) and within 1 year be certified as a Sewage Enforcement Officer (SEO). All certifications must be maintained and remain current during employment.</li></ul> <ul><li>“In accordance with Allegheny County Health Department Rules and Regulations, Article XV, Plumbing and Building Drainage, Chapter 1, Paragraph 103.5 states “No person appointed Chief Plumbing Inspector, Assistant Chief Plumbing Inspector, Supervisor or Inspector shall directly be engaged in business or work regulated by the Article during their employment with the Department”.</li></ul> <ul><li>Possession of a valid automobile operator’s license and the use of an automobile during working hours. You must be able to provide your own transportation to and from the various worksites throughout Allegheny County. The important aspects of the work are reviewing proposed plumbing and building drainage installation plans for compliance with codes and regulations for the protection of the public against the hazards of unsanitary conditions in plumbing systems. An employee in this class performs work under general supervision and his work is reviewed by the Chief Plumbing Inspector through oral and written reports and review of proposed plans and specifications.
